Breast cancer patient Doreta Norris was moments away from going under the knife to have a double mastectomy.
Instead of letting her nerves get the best of her, she decided to dance her way into the operating room.
On the morning of her surgery, she told her nurse Brooke Galimore that she wanted to dance. Without hesitation, Galimore set out to make that happen. They acknowledged her struggle and helped her overcome a difficult time — and the next thing Norris knew, Dr. Timbert was there to ask her what kind of music she wanted.
Her husband caught the heartwarming moment on video on camera, as Norris danced with her doctors and nurses at Piedmont Henry Hospital.
Dancing next to a gurney, she kept a smile on her face and had a very positive outlook.
According to a recent update from Piedmont Henry Hospital, Norris “dance the cancer away” and, today, is now cancer free.
