Do you believe in fate and miracles? Sometimes, it certainly seems like something happens and it is “meant to be,” or that a guardian angel is looking out for a person and keeping them safe.

Brayden Armstrong was the guardian angel for a younger boy in dire need of help.

Brayden, a 12-year-old boy from the Muskegon area of Michigan, was attending a wrestling camp in Isabella County in early July 2017. He was staying at a Days Inn in Mount Pleasant on July 11, 2017, when he realized he’d forgotten clothes back at the hotel pool.

Brayden went back to the pool to retrieve his clothes when he saw a horrifying sight — a 3-year-old boy floating lifelessly in the water. Police say the toddler had likely slipped on the steps and fallen in when he wandered too close to the pool. He was trapped underwater for nearly two minutes.

While many children might get scared, tense up, or even run away at such a scary sight, Brayden knew exactly what to do.

“I was standing there for a second thinking, like, well maybe he’s going to get up, like he was just messing around in the pool,” Brayden explains in the video below. “And I realized he wasn’t getting up, so I jumped in and grabbed him.”

The toddler‘s mom and a nurse staying at the hotel arrived and performed CPR until he regained consciousness and was taken away in an ambulance. The boy is expected to make a full recovery.
