Bradley Cooper Admits The Chemistry With His ‘A Star Is Born’ Costar Lady Gaga ‘Was Instant’

by Madison Vanderberg

Lady Gaga stars in the third reboot of A Star Is Born, where she plays an undiscovered singer-songwriter who is mentored by Bradley Cooper‘s character, an aging country star.

The film is already generating Oscar buzz, and critics who have seen the film cannot stop raving about Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga’s supernatural chemistry.

The story goes that Bradley went to Gaga’s Malibu home to see if they vibed and could work together before offering her the part, but the second he stepped inside her house “the chemistry was instant,” Bradley told Entertainment Tonight about that first meeting.

Watching the duo do interviews together, it’s obvious that they’ve turned this professional relationship into a lovely friendship, or as Bradley put it: “We forged a friendship by creating art together, [which] is kind of the most idyllic way to use that chemistry.”

As for Gaga, she said: “I just thought [Bradley] was one of the most brilliant actors in the world, and then when I met him in person, he was one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. When we were together we were just so comfortable together, and this whole thing that’s happening is beautiful.”

A Star Is Born arrives in theaters on October 5, 2018, but you can watch their interview with ET below for a first-hand look at their effortless chemistry.
