Parents with sick children struggle everyday. They worry about the child’s wellbeing and are concerned that they, as parents, cannot make their pain go away. It is undoubtedly painful to watch them suffer to any degree.

Anything that can make a positive difference in the life of a child in such a terrible condition is welcome.

One of these things? Therapy pets. There is nothing more soothing than a fluffy, furry animal who gives you their undivided attention!

Therapy animals, especially dogs, are often welcome to come inside hospitals and bring hope, courage, and solace to patients who may feel like all is lost. Children and their families almost immediately feel the benefits of being around such calm and gentle beings.

If this is ever put in question, the following clip is sure to prove that there are few things more comforting to have around than a dog.

April Rock is the mother of 7-year-old Jonah, who is in the pediatric intensive care unit. She says that he rarely communicates.

But when 6-year-old Fin, a therapy dog, hopped onto his bed, he signed the word ‘dog’ in his mother’s hand, reducing her to tears.

You can watch the moment and, even if you are not a parent, understand its magnitude and importance.
