Unfortunately, there are some people who become parents, but should not get the amazing chance to do so.
They don’t appreciate the gift that a child truly is, and sometimes, they abuse their power as an adult and leave children scarred for life — or worse.
But thankfully, amazing policemen and women all over the world aim to stop any harm from coming to a child, or anyone, for that matter.
And that is exactly what happened in this horrifying situation with Giovanni Eastwood, a boy with Down syndrome whose parents didn’t choose to love him.
When Eastwood was found, he was locked in his mother’s attic. It was in 2010, and he was only 6 years old.
But when police found him, they thought he looked as if he was 3 years old.
He was less than 20 pounds, and he was completely neglected, abused, and abandoned.
Thankfully, his grandfather had called the cops on his mother, and she was taken into custody. But little Eastwood wasn’t found until later, when the policemen had a hunch that he might still be in the home alone.
The video below tells the heartbreaking story behind the photo of tiny Eastwood, but then, they show us the silver lining.
Thankfully, Eastwood was adopted by his great aunt and is now a happy and healthy young boy, who gets to meet the heroic police officers who saved him.
