Bode and Morgan Miller welcomed a new boy baby into the world on Friday, just four months after the tragic death of their daughter.

The Millers’ new child is the pair’s third child together, and Bode’s fifth. The couple hasn’t yet revealed the baby boy’s name.

Morgan was pregnant with the new baby when their daughter, Emeline, died. Emmy, as the family affectionately called her, accidentally drowned in a neighbor’s pool in June.

In the midst of the Millers’ grief, a new bundle of joy was born.

“Exactly one month before Emmy’s second birthday… the sun rose and they knew this day would be different.

An overwhelming feeling of joy started to fill a valley of deep grief and sadness,” the Millers’ midwife, Lindsey Meehleis, told Today.

“While nothing will ever replace the feeling of aching arms to hold Emmy again, this baby provided something new this day: joy, inspiration and hope.… Morgan’s fingers grasped onto their son, who filled such empty arms.”

Olympic medalist Bode Miller married Morgan Beck in 2012. She gave birth to their youngest child, a baby boy, on October 5.

The baby comes less than four months after their second child, Emeline, tragically died.

Emeline slipped through a back door in the Coto de Caza neighborhood of Orange County, California, People reports. She fell into the pool and remained there for about 30 seconds before Morgan discovered her. Bode wasn’t home at the time.

Though paramedics rushed to the scene to perform CPR, Emmy was unable to be resuscitated; she died the next day.

The couple announced the horrific news on Instagram soon after.

“We are beyond devastated. Our baby girl, Emmy, passed away yesterday. Never in a million years did we think we would experience a pain like this,” they each wrote.

At the time of the tragedy, Morgan was also five months pregnant.

“Emmy was so excited to be a big sister. She walked around all the time with her baby [doll],” Morgan previously told Today in a tearful interview.

“And now, we have the opportunity to get to love that baby not only for ourselves, but for Emmy,” she continued.

Meaningfully, the new baby boy was born just as Emeline was born nearly two years ago — at home in a birthing pool.

And he was born exactly one month before what would have been Emmy’s 2nd birthday.

The couple also shares a 3-year-old son together, Nash Skan.

In addition, Bode has two children from previous relationships: Samuel, 5, and Neesyn, 10.

Since their daughter’s tragic death, Bode and Morgan have made it their mission to spread awareness about water safety for children.

“It is 100% preventable,” Morgan told Today in her earlier interview. “You need to think of water completely differently.”

They also care deeply about “removing the stigma” surrounding the loss of a child.

“We have people come up to us [where] it’s really hard [for them] to address [us]. They don’t know what to say, they don’t want to cause you more pain, and they don’t want to dodge around the subject,” Bode told CBS News in August.

“But the fact is, breaking that stigma and making it a conversation that you can have with parents who have, unfortunately, experienced it firsthand is one of those really important steps.”

Morgan shared a heartfelt message to her baby angel on Instagram a month ago.

“I wish I could have one more day to hold you, but until that day comes, continue to work through me and give me the strength to bring awareness, my love,” she wrote.

We wish Morgan and Bode all the best with their new bundle of joy as they continue to honor Emmy’s legacy.
