Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are one of Hollywood’s hottest couples. That also means that their names are often circulating in the rumor mill.
It seems that not a week goes by where we don’t hear about Blake and Gwen’s alleged wedding plans or the bounties of kids they’re having. If it’s exhausting to watch, imagine being the subject of the rumors. Firing back isn’t usually the couple’s style, but Blake put a spin on a recent story that had everyone laughing.
Rumors have circulated that Blake and Gwen are expecting twins. Before you get excited, consider that similar rumors about the couple have come and gone since 2016.
A recent magazine cover breathed new life into the falsehood, which Blake jokingly addressed in a recent tweet. When Gwen tweeted about her Harajuku Minis line being back in Target stores, Blake retweeted with a hilarious comment of his own, shutting the speculators down.
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are a couple that no one in Hollywood could have ever anticipated. If you take a look at the couple’s lovey nature together, the bond between the country crooner and punk rock princess makes perfect sense.
The two have been an item since 2015. As more time passes and the couple continues going strong, more questions about their future have come up. As with most celebrity couples, they’ve been pretty coy about their plans regarding marriage or kids.
Despite their minimal commentary on the subjects, there are still plenty of rumors speculating when the two might take a trip down the aisle or decide to expand their family. There’s one rumor in particular that keeps popping up.
Gossip Cop, a gossip fact-checking site, reports that rumors indicating that Blake and Gwen are having twins have been in and out of circulation since 2016. Blake first poked fun at the rumors in early 2018, during a performance at his restaurant in Oklahoma.
In between performing songs, Blake joked that he was “very lucky” that Gwen joined him for the evening out. He then added that she “actually gave birth to twins yesterday, and she’s here tonight to sing with me.”
Despite the fact that Blake and Gwen poke fun at this particular rumor, it’s still come up a number of times. In fact, it’s appeared on at least four different magazine covers over the course of the last three years.
Recently, Gwen took to Twitter to announce that her Harajuku Minis children’s line would be available again at Target. She excitedly encouraged fans to scoop up the adorable pieces before it was too late.
Blake saw the opportunity to respond and went for it. He responded, “ohhhhhh @gwenstefani this stuff will be great for our twins!!!!” The hilarious response struck a chord with the couples’ longtime fans, who know just how hard the rumor mill has worked at this story.
One fan actually responded with several of the magazine covers that have reported news of the supposed twins. “Which set?” the fan joked in reply to Blake. Other fans also took the opportunity to get in on the joke.
“Don’t think it would be fair Blake!” chimed in another fan. “After all, you two have what? 4 sets of twins by now? The whole collection would be gone before people even had a chance to buy it!“
There may not be any plans for Blake and Gwen minis, but their family is getting along great as it stands already. Gwen’s three boys — 13-year-old Kingston, 11-year-old Zuma, and 5-year-old Apollo — reportedly get along great with Blake.
Gwen actually spoke about Blake as a parent during her appearance on Monday’s episode of Today. “He is a good dad, actually,” Gwen noted. “He’s been helping me out a lot. I literally get to the point where I’m like, ‘You’ve got to get home. Come help!’ It’s hard. I have three boys.”
Gwen also opened up about what it was like sending her youngest off to kindergarten this year. “That part was a little bit hard … because I never thought I would be in preschool again because I had him late and he was a miracle surprise in the first place,” she explained.
From the sounds of it, Blake and Gwen may not be interested in expanding their family at any point. Ultimately, the decision is theirs to make, regardless of how the tabloids might try to exert their pull.
