When you give a random person your phone number, you usually have a 50/50 chances  of ever hearing from them again.

That’s why Jim Gagnon is far from your average guy. It doesn’t matter if you’re a woman, man, old, or young — if you have some kind of connection to this 87-year-old Ohio man, you can expect a phone call from him at least once a year. Gagnon is a self-proclaimed lover of all people, and in his old age he’s figured out what truly makes him happy: calling family, friends, acquaintances, and even strangers on their birthdays.

Every day, Gagnon breaks out his list of names and birthdays and picks up the phone.

The Toledo man dials old coworkers, friends of friends, random people that gave him a ride once — you name it. At 87, he admits he doesn’t remember most of the people he calls, but that’s OK. While some people find the calls a bit strange, others really look forward to hearing from Gagnon.

One phone call can make a huge difference in a person’s life — especially when it comes at the right time. Making calls about five times a day can be time consuming, but it’s a lot more thoughtful than clicking your mouse or sending a text.

Doesn’t this make you want to spread the joy and call someone for their birthday? Please SHARE this video with someone you care about on Facebook!
