Old Man Works As Teacher His Entire Life, Then Firefighters Give Him Dream Job On 97th Birthday

Jess is a curly-haired Jersey girl who adores penguins and watches the worst reality shows on TV.

Bill Grun worked as a teacher his entire life. Although it was fulfilling, he always admired firefighters and their work.

Then, the Doylestown, Pennsylvania Fire Department heard his birthday was coming up.

In the video below, posted on April 26, 2017, Bill greets a firefighter who is going to make his biggest dream come true.

The fire department arrives at Bill’s retirement home and takes him outside to see their big red firetruck out front. Bill is all smiles when he realizes he is getting a shot at his dream job. For a day, he becomes the firefighter he always wanted to be.

Although there are no fires for Bill to fight on this day, he still gets a special treat. As an honorary firefighter, he gets to ride around in the department’s Ladder 79 firetruck.

The expression of excitement and joy on Bill’s face makes all the effort completely worth it for the firemen involved in the massive surprise. The 97-year-old’s appreciation for the firefighters and their generous gift are all that matters in the end.

Bill says he will always be thankful for this experience and it’s clear that this surprise is even greater than he expected it to be.

This is one fantastic 97th birthday present!
