The premiere of The Lion King was brought to its knees as Beyoncé and Blue Ivy stepped onto the red carpet.
The incredible megastar, who voices Nala in the live-action film, arrived at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Tuesday with her mini-me in tow.
Beyoncé shined in a crystal chandelier-embroidered Alexander McQueen tuxedo dress with a dégradé crystal-embroidered skirt. She completed the look with chunky crystal jewelry, crystal-embroidered pin heel sandals, and a decked-out chandelier-embroidered box clutch. She paired the fashion with a smoky eye and sleek ponytail.
Blue Ivy looked every bit her mother’s daughter in a matching black dress with a similar crystal-embroidered skirt.
There were plenty of celebrities out in support of the film. One of them was Beyoncé’s former Destiny’s Child group mate, Michelle Williams. When asked about Beyoncé’s feelings about her role in the film, Michelle replied, “Just excitement and how now is the time [for] different voices, different experiences and what she is going to bring to it. And because of her two little girls, of what she’s passing on for her family is really awesome.”
Beyoncé isn’t just lending her talents to the movie by voicing Nala. It’s also been announced that Beyoncé produced and curated the film’s soundtrack. The first single from it, “Spirit,” is now available. The album is described on the film’s Twitter account as “an album featuring global artists & steeped in the sounds of Africa” and will be available in full on July 19. That’s the same day that The Lion King hits theaters nationwide.
