Hocus Pocus was a Halloween classic. Disney recently confirmed that, 26 years later, a sequel is finally on the way to its new streaming service, Disney+.

Die-hard Hocus Pocus fans, however, want to know how the sequel is going to stay true to the 1993 original. So what about Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker?

“Oh my goodness me. I hope they get to me before I’m a corpse,” Bette Midler said at the Hulaween gala in New York City. “We wanna fly again. I hope Disney+ is a big success, and I hope we get to do it, because [Winifred] is, of course, one of my favorite characters.”

The actress couldn’t say much to confirm her potential involvement in a Hocus Pocus sequel, but she did give a little hint.

“I can’t wait to read the script,” she said. “We’re gonna see what happens.”

Bette Midler also admitted that whenever she gets together with her former Hocus Pocus costars, they somehow always end up hypothesizing potential plots for a sequel. “We actually talk about it whenever we see each other,” she said. “We laugh. We say, ‘Oh, wouldn’t it be great if?’ Because all of us had pretty much the same experience on it.”

We’ll keep our fingers crossed that Winifred makes a grand appearance in the upcoming sequel. Check out the video to see if you can catch Bette giving any more hints on Hocus Pocus 2.
