10 Mouth-Watering Recipes For Anyone Who Is Obsessed With Garlic

Any time I cook, no matter what meal it is, you can be sure I’m adding a healthy dash of delicious garlic to every recipe.

That, or I’m sprinkling some garlic salt or adding a pinch of garlic powder over an already prepared dish. The notoriously pungent flavor has just always been one of my most favorite ingredients!

And judging by the amazing recipes below, I’m definitely not the only one who thinks every meal is better with at least two cloves included — if not more. That said, I was a little intimidated when I saw the huge amount used for the last recipe in #10, but I’ve also had friends tell me it’s the best meal they’ve ever eaten.

1. Rosemary And Garlic Roasted Almonds

This recipe from One Green Planet would be the perfect protein-packed, savory snack to pick you up in the middle of the day.

Ingredients:
3 cups raw almonds
3 Tbsps. extra virgin olive oil
3-6 cloves garlic
3 Tbsps. or 1/4 cup fresh rosemary
1/2 tsp. paprika
1 Tbsp. sea salt

Instructions:
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees, then mix together the almonds, olive oil, and salt in a bowl. Mince the garlic and remove leaves from the rosemary sprig, then add to the almond mixture until all are coated.

Spread them out in a single layer on a cookie sheet and bake for about 20 minutes, stirring halfway through.

2. Parmesan And Garlic Potato Wedges

Serve up this scrumptious appetizer from Host the Toast at your next shindig and you’ll have folks begging you to share the recipe!

Ingredients:
4 russet potatoes
4 cups water
1 Tbsp. white or apple cider vinegar
1 Tbsp. salt
1/4 cup butter
4 oz. shredded parmesan cheese
4 large cloves garlic
1/4 cup freshly chopped parsley
Zest of 1 lemon
Salt and pepper

Instructions:
Slice the potatoes into wedges and place in a large pot, then add water, vinegar and the tablespoon of salt. Bring to a boil and let simmer for 10 minutes, then drain and pat dry with paper towels.

Pre-heat your oven to 400 degrees and divide your butter into tablespoon sized pieces across a baking sheet. Place in the oven while it pre-heats, allowing the butter to melt, then remove and sprinkle parmesan evenly in a thin layer. Do the same with your minced garlic, then place the potatoes on top and bake for 45 minutes.

Mix the parsley, lemon zest, and salt and pepper to taste in a small bowl while that cooks, then set aside while potatoes cool. Carefully place the wedges on a plate and sprinkle with the parsley mixture.

3. Roasted Garlic Soup

Honestly, I think I could eat this easy soup recipe from Food52 every single night.

Ingredients:
1 head garlic
Olive oil
Salt and pepper
2 Tbsps. butter
1/2 yellow onion
3 sprigs thyme
2 Tbsps. sherry vinegar
3/4 cup water
Liquid from 1 can of tomatoes

Instructions:
Separate the cloves from the head of garlic, but keep them peeled and add them to a baking dish and toss with enough olive oil to coat, salt, and pepper to taste. Add a thin layer of water at the bottom of the dish and roast the garlic at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes.

Allow them to cool before peeling and setting aside the cloves. Heat butter in a large pot over medium heat, then add diced onions and thyme until the onions become translucent. Add salt and pepper to taste, then half the sherry vinegar.

Add the cloves, tomato liquid, and water and let simmer covered for about 20 minutes. Let it cool, and then puree in a blender or with a blending wand. Heat back up and serve.

Also known as “pasta arrabiata,” the “anger” refers to the hot pepper flakes in this classic Italian recipe by Taste of Home.

Ingredients:
1/2 lb. bacon strips
2 garlic cloves
1/3 cup olive oil
3 cans tomato puree
6 fresh basil leaves
1 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
3 cups uncooked penne pasta

Instructions:
Chop the bacon, then brown in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp. Sauté minced garlic cloves in the same skillet for about a minute, adding olive oil as needed, then add the tomato puree, basil, pepper flakes, and bacon.

Bring the mixture to a boil and reduce the head, then allow to simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

While that simmers, cook pasta and drain. Pour the sauce over before serving.

5. Garlic Herb Pinwheels

You can make this puff pastry as light or thick as you’d like, but this method by Pip and Ebby would definitely make a great side to any meal.

Ingredients:
1/3 cup chopped mixed fresh herbs
2 garlic cloves
2 Tbsps. extra-virgin olive oil
1 sheet frozen puff pastry
Salt and pepper

Instructions:
Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees and combine herbs, minced garlic, olive oil, and salt and pepper to taste in a small bowl. Unfold the thawed pastry on a floured surface and coat with the mixture.

Roll the pastry up and slice into 1/4-inch-thick rounds. Spread them on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for about 15 minutes or until golden on the edges.

6. Garlic Butter Shrimp

Not only does this aromatic dish hit the spot, according to Chungah at Damn Delicious, it only takes about 20 minutes to whip up!

Ingredients:
1 stick unsalted butter
1 1/2 pounds medium shrimp
Salt and pepper
5 cloves garlic
1/4 cup chicken stock
Juice of 1 lemon

Instructions:
Peel and devein your shrimp, then melt two tablespoons of the stick of butter in a large skillet over medium heat, then add the shrimp with salt and pepper to taste. Stir frequently until the shrimp is pink, then remove them and set aside on a plate.

Add minced garlic cloves to the skillet and stir frequently for about one minute. Stir in the chicken stock and lemon juice, bringing to a boil and then reducing the heat. Allow to simmer until reduced by half, which should be about two minutes. Add the rest of your butter one tablespoon at a time.

Stir in the shrimp and toss until completely coated.

7. Slow Cooker Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Jaclyn at Cooking Classy kicks regular old mashed potatoes up a notch with this super garlicky twist.

Ingredients:
4 lbs. red potatoes
1/2 cup water
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
4 cloves garlic
1/4 cup butter
2/3 cup sour cream
1/2 cup cream
1/2 cup milk

Instructions:
Slice your potatoes into 1-1 1/2-inch chunks and then place them inside a greased slow cooker pot. Pour water over and toss in salt, pepper, and minced garlic. Melt your butter in the microwave and pour evenly over potatoes, then cover and cook on high for 4-4 1/2 hours until the potatoes are tender.

Don’t drain the water before mashing the potatoes and adding sour cream and heavy cream. Whip with a hand mixer and add in milk until it reaches your preferred consistency.

8. Garlic Mac And Cheese

I cannot believe I never thought to add garlic to what might be my absolute favorite meal ever, but I’m glad Elsie and Emma from A Beautiful Mess have finally fixed that.

Ingredients:
16 oz. macaroni noodles
4 Tbsps. butter
4 cloves garlic
4 oz. cream cheese
3 cups whole milk
2 cups shredded cheese
2 eggs
Salt and pepper

Instructions:
Boil the noodles until they’re just slightly undercooked and drain. Melt the butter in a large sauce pan over medium heat, then add minced garlic and cook for about a minute. Add the cream cheese, 2 cups of the milk, and the shredded cheese. Stir until completely melted, then remove from heat.

Whisk the eggs and remaining cup of milk, then add a dollop of the hot cheese mixture and stir. Pour everything into a slow cooker and season to taste with salt and pepper, cover, and allow to cook for about an hour on low.

9. Cheddar Biscuits

No need to head to the restaurant famous for their own take on these tasty biscuits when you can make this recipe from Gina at Skinny Taste in no time.

Ingredients:
2 Tbsps. butter
2 cloves garlic
2 Tbsps. parsley
2 cups biscuit mix
3.5 oz. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
2/3 cup fat free milk

Instructions:
Pre-heat your oven to 400 degrees, then line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Melt the butter in a small pan, then add half of the minced garlic and sauté on low heat until brown. Remove from the heat and stir in chopped parsley.

Add the biscuit mix, cheddar cheese, and remaining garlic, stir in the milk and mix. Add tablespoonfuls of the dough to the baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes, brush with the melted butter mixture, and bake for another five minutes or until brown.

10. Forty Clove Chicken

That’s right — 40 cloves! But don’t worry, Chungah at Damn Delicious swears that the flavor isn’t completely overpowering.

Ingredients:
8 chicken thighs
Salt and pepper
2 Tbsps. unsalted butter
40 cloves garlic
1 1/2 cups chicken broth
1 Tbsp. dried thyme
2 Tbsps. all-purpose flour
2 Tbsps. milk

Instructions:
Season your chicken thighs with salt and pepper to your taste. Melt the butter over medium heat and add the chicken skin-side down, searing both sides for about two minutes.

Peel the cloves and add whole to the skillet, then cook for about five minutes or until golden brown. Add the chicken broth and bring to a boil, then add the chicken and thyme.

Cover and reduce the heat, allowing to simmer for about 30 minutes, then remove from the skillet. In a small bowl, whisk together flour and milk and add to the juices in the skillet, stirring until thickened.

Pour sauce over the chicken and serve.
