When the homeowner in the video below purchased bear mace, I think it’s safe to say that the last thing he expected to use it on was a burglar.
Yet, on a very early, dark Tuesday morning, the homeowner heard his motion detectors go off.
“I looked at the camera and saw a man walking up our driveway and climb into our vehicle,” he said. “I was not dressed. I was in my underwear.”
Nonetheless, the man didn’t waste a second. He grabbed the first weapon available — his bear mace — and ran outside to confront the man.
“He climbed out of the car and started running,” the homeowner said. “I chased him for about a block and a half.
“He tried to climb a fence, and that’s when I hit him with the first shot of the bear mace.”
Yep, bear mace — to the face!
The alleged thief tried to brush the bear mace off, but the homeowner kept on firing, eventually emptying the can on him.
“Then, he threw his hands in the air and laid on the ground and said, ‘I’m done!'”
The homeowner walked the alleged thief back to his porch, where his wife had been calling the police.
“I told dispatch, ‘You’re not going to believe what I’m seeing right now,’ because the guy was just in complete compliance with my husband,” she said.
