If you’ve ever lived on a farm, you get a lot more exposure to the circle of life than most other people.

While you take care of so many animals, you see more and more who just don’t make it though nature’s tests. Sometimes nature can be cruel, but that’s just the way it can go, as sad as that is.

When the folks at Overlook Acres in upstate New York found some bunnies out in the freezing cold, they were too late for some of them. The freezing temperatures proved too hard. However, a few of them held onto life, even though they were half-frozen.

They took in the surviving bunnies to bottle-feed them and nurse them back to health.

While most recovered, one of the little guys never regained use of his back legs. It seems that something, possibly the cold, left him paralyzed on his bottom half. Despite the fact that he couldn’t move his hind legs, he didn’t seem to be in any pain. His rescuers didn’t want to put him down if he wasn’t suffering… so they set out to find another solution for this little guy.

One of the kind people at Overlook Acres went to the local dollar store and bought at $1 toy skateboard. They secured the baby bunny’s little legs to the makeshift wheelchair. When they set him loose? They couldn’t believe their eyes!
