Baby Giraffes Born At The Santa Barbara Zoo Are Too Cute Waltzing Around With Mom And Dad

Grace plays in a band and is the mother to a black cat named Fitzhugh.

I’m always amazed when newborn baby animals get up to walk just minutes after they’re born. I understand that that’s the normal way of a life out in the wild… but it just always reminds me of how helpless humans are for such a long period of time when we’re babies!

When these baby giraffes stand up at such an extremely young age, just minutes after living inside of Mom’s belly, it takes a moment for them to get used to those big old stilt legs they’ve got. After a bit of fumbling around, though, they eventually get the hang of it!

Sometimes I feel like these little guys. After an intense spin class for the first time in far too long, my legs turn to gelatin. When I was walking down the stairs on legs that no longer seemed to be a part of my body, the first thing I thought of were little giraffes like these guys!

Dane and Sunshine are almost too cute to handle. Watching them wander about the Santa Barbara Zoo is just about as good as it gets. While these little guys have been transported to different zoos as part of a conservation project, there are still tons of animals to see at the zoo, so give them a visit if you’re in the area.
