When a family is about to have a baby, most parents only hope for one thing. And that’s a healthy baby.

Whether they’re a boy or a girl, small or large — as long as they’re healthy, their parents will be happy. But unfortunately not every parent is so lucky.

Although little baby Everett seemed perfectly healthy when he was born, at only 3 months old, his parents recognized that he wasn’t doing well with tracking objects or seeing things they were doing right in front of him, so they took him to a professional to see what was going on.

The doctor diagnosed him with oculocutaneous albinism, meaning he lacks pigment in his eyes, skin, and hair. But that also meant that he would need some help with his vision.

This rare genetic disorder was a surprise to the family when he was diagnosed, but once they got their diagnosis, they were able to get Everett glasses! And when his mom put them on him and he was able to see for the first time, his reaction was absolutely priceless.

Watch below as he looks through the lenses, sees his mom, and absolutely lights up with happiness.

Although he’s still a baby, it’s so clear that he knows who his mom is, and that he knows exactly how great it is to finally see clearly.
