Mom Lets Cameras In During Birth, Then Newborn Daughter Reaches Out To Grab Her Face

Whether born naturally or through a Cesarean section, the moment a mother first sees her baby is pretty incredible. Moms who give birth via C-section, which in the U.S. is about 32% of them, sometimes have trouble holding a baby because of the anesthesia. A baby will be placed on a mom’s chest or held there if she is unable to move her arms.

Ágata Ribeiro Coêlho was born via C-section at Santa Monica Hospital in Brazil. In the video below, little Ágata is placed on her mom Brenda Coêlho de Souza’s chest and the connection is instant.

With the medical staff in awe, this sweet little girl reaches out and gently touches her mom’s cheek and then moves her mouth as if she is trying to kiss her. The look on Brenda’s face is pure bliss.

“It was an incredible moment when my daughter hugged me for the first time,” Brenda says.

Sweet Ágata cries for a few seconds, but Brenda speaks gently to her and she calms right down. Clearly, this new mom is a natural!

This video captures the first moments of life so beautifully. It also dispels the myth that C-sections impact the bonding process between mother and child. Get your tissues ready — this one is absolutely precious!
