Have You Seen This Strange Mud Creature Before? No One Can Agree On What It Is

Australia is full of unique (and sometimes frightening!) surprises.

The country is filled with creatures that can’t be found anywhere else — and now, apparently, it’s home to some unidentified sea monsters as well.

According to Storyful, Australian David White owns a wildlife cruise company in North Queensland. One of his employees, Martin, was on the Daintree River when he noticed something unusual.

A strange creature was bobbing in and out of a mud pool near the river. The setting was pretty creepy, but the creature itself was even weirder. It even had some odd movements. I’ve never seen anything like this, and I’ve lived by the water my whole life!

Martin recorded the strange creature and brought his video back to David, wondering if he knew what it was. David was baffled, so he posted it online in search of answers.

People in the comments section of his YouTube and Instagram videos have suggested that this is a duck bobbing for food, an eel, or perhaps just a rock sinking in a weird way.

The Loch Ness Monster lives thousands of miles away, but I’m starting to think she has some family in Australia.

Check out the video below to see the unusual sea monster for yourself. What do you think is hanging out in those Australian waters?
