Artist Uses Intimate Technique To Create Gorgeous Paintings Of Nature: Kissing The Canvas

When you think of someone creating a painting, one of the essential tools they need is a paint brush, and of course, paint.

Ancient humans may have used their hands in cave paintings, but our culture has come a long way since then.

These days, there are plenty of other mediums for artists to experiment with. For instance, makeup artists use makeup to create their masterpieces, but they’re not the only ones.

Artist Alexis Fraser, who goes by Lipstick Lex, uses lipstick and her own kiss print as her signature in her pieces. Alexis shares on her website, “All of my art is made with love — literally!

I believe love, beauty and feelings of merriment are all infectious, thus I’m passing it along through my work.”

The artist also shares her masterpieces on her Instagram for all the internet to enjoy.

Alexis loves to create nature scenes, and is inspired by the animals around her in her home of Sarasota, Florida. There, she says she maintains “a sunshine state of mind in both my art and personal life.”

All of her work features kiss marks, but it’s not as obvious in some pieces as it is in others. You can barely tell in some of them, like in her portraits of Frida Kahlo or Katharine Hepburn.

Take a look at Alexis’ process for yourself in the video below and be sure to SHARE it with anyone who likes to think outside the box!
