Teen Invites Uncle To Father-Daughter Dance Without Knowing Her Army Dad Will Show Up

If you know someone in the military, you know that these men and women don’t get to see their families as often as they would like. They often go weeks or months without seeing the people they care about the most. This makes every homecoming special in its own right, no matter how long they will be staying with their families.

But when Warrant Officer Wally Vega came home recently, it was for a very special reason: He wanted to surprise his teen daughter at her high school’s father-daughter dance.

His daughter, Jasmine, had been planning to attend the dance with her uncle, knowing that her Army dad wouldn’t be able to make it, as he was stationed in Texas.

Little did she know, her dad had organized the special surprise with her mom and school well in advance in order to make this freshman dance extra special.

In the clip below, you can watch the moment the Army dad shows up at the dance. His daughter, upon hearing his name and seeing his face, takes a few steps back before giving him a huge hug.

The two shared a sweet dance with one another, and the father and daughter couldn’t have had a better time together. They made the most out of every minute spent together.
