My Worst Nightmare As A Mom? Raising A Bully

by Giovanna Boldrini
Giovanna was born in Rome, Italy and currently resides in South Salem, New York. In her free time, she likes to cook with her children and grandchildren.

Kristina Kuzmic is fired up about a topic on the minds of a lot of parents out there: bullying.

In the latest episode of Truth Bomb Mom, Kuzmic asks the question that many parents are probably struggling with, asking if parents, even those with the best of intentions, are inadvertently contributing to raising bullies.

“I can’t handle hearing another bully story,” Kuzmic says. “I can’t take reading another story about a child who is being mocked or picked on or physically hurt, who is scared to go to school, who is destroyed so badly emotionally that they contemplate or even follow through on suicide. I can’t take it, it has to stop.”

“It makes me wonder, what can we do as parents?” Kuzmic asks. “I know that I don’t have complete control over how my child turns out, but what control do I have?

Am I doing everything — are we doing everything we can to make sure that we are not raising a bully?”

It’s time that parents took a long hard look at themselves and their actions, according to Kuzmic. “Are we modeling to our children that if you disagree with someone it gives you the right to be unkind to them?,” she says. “Seriously, let’s take a moment and think about this.”

Watch Kuzmic passionately ask the questions about bullying all parents should be asking themselves.
