Every childbirth can be considered a miracle, but for Anna Faris, the word “miracle” doesn’t do her son, Jack, justice.
Since separating from her husband, Chris Pratt, Anna has published a tell-all book called Unqualified. In her book, she goes into detail about many important moments in her life, one of them being the difficult birth of her now 5-year-old son, Jack.
A doctor sat her and Chris down to tell them some startling news about Jack’s health just after he was born several weeks prematurely.
Now, Anna is opening up about the difficulties she faced as a mom and how those moments have molded her into the person she is today.

This is Anna Faris. She’s best known for her roles in the Scary Movie series, House Bunny, and her new series, Mom.
Although we associate her with her acting chops, not everyone knows what she’s struggled with. Luckily, Anna has chosen to open up about one of the scariest moments of her life, which involved her son Jack.
According to Entertainment Weekly, it was a time when “she and now-ex Pratt worked to come to terms with terrifying news.”
Shortly after Jack was born a few weeks prematurely, she and Chris learned that not all was well with their little boy.
As reported by ET, Anna writes in her memoir: “The pediatric neurosurgeon sat Chris and me down to tell us that Jack had some severe brain bleeding and there was a chance that he could be developmentally disabled.”
Now that it’s passed her, Anna has no problem revealing her strife.
The new parents were essentially living in the dark and weren’t going to know if their baby boy was developmentally disabled until he turned 18 months old.
Anna says, “These moments can be hard on couples, but for us it really brought us together.”
Soon, they learned the fate of their son.
The couple was able to bring Jack home after about a month.
Then, they realized they were going to have nothing to worry about.
Today, little Jack is 5 years old and flourishing. He didn’t fulfill his parents’ biggest fears, but he still has limited vision and leg muscle issues.
He is everything that Anna could have hoped for — and more!
He beat the odds and is still proving himself every day.
As he keeps growing up, we’re sure he’ll continue to make his mom and dad proud.
