Anna Charlesworth’s day turned upside down when she saw something gruesome by a river in California.
Fortunately, this brave woman wasn’t going to let the unthinkable happen on her watch.
In the video below, posted on July 17, 2017, Anna explains, “In the beginning, they were traumatized, but they’re coming out of their shell.”
She had witnessed a complete stranger walk over to the river with a burlap sack filled to the brim with six tiny Chihuahua puppies. The grim scene would steal anyone’s attention right away.
“These six puppies were in the bag,” Anna recalls.
Then, she saw the monstrous stranger dump the sack full of puppies in the river. At that point, something urgent had to be done. Anna wasn’t going to sit there and let this happen.
She risked her life and made a big dive into the water to save the six helpless puppies. The fight to save them was hard, and Anna could have lost everything. In the end, she and the puppies made it back onto land together.
Now, Anna hopes the cream-colored Chihuahuas will find loving families they can trust. It may be a journey, but after all they have been through, they definitely deserve this second chance at happiness.
