When the 75th Golden Globe Awards aired on January 7, 2018, many viewers tuned in to see the stars on the red carpet in their finest formalwear — and to see who they were bringing as dates.

While many of the women attending the ceremony opted to bring activists as their dates in honor of the Time’s Up movement — an initiative to end sexual harassment and assault against women and to support survivors — Angelina Jolie opted for a more familiar date: her son, Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt.

In a totally sweet mom move, the 42-year-old actress and human rights activist brought her second-oldest child to the industry event. The 14-year-old matched his mom, wearing a black tuxedo and an accompanying Time’s Up pin on his lapel.

Angelina was in attendance as a presenter and a nominee. She presented the award for Best Actress in a Drama alongside actress Isabella Huppert. Her historical thriller First They Killed My Father was up for the Best Foreign Language Film award. According to E! News, this was the first year that Pax attended the Golden Globes. An insider told E! that the mom and son were seated next to Thor actor Chris Hemsworth and chatted with him throughout the night.

Also in attendance was Jennifer Aniston, another ex of Angelina’s estranged husband, Brad Pitt. The two were married when he and Angelina first met and fell in love on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. According to FOX, Jennifer skipped the red carpet and only appeared later in the evening to hand out the award for Best Actress in a TV Drama with Carol Burnett.

Plenty of viewers were anticipating how the two women would react to one another if they came face-to-face. As it turns out, the actresses (who have each long maintained that there is no feud between them) avoided a potentially awkward run-in entirely — though Angie glancing down at her table during Jennifer’s time on stage did get turned into a meme on Twitter.
