Amy Duggar and husband Dillon King are brand-new parents: The pair welcomed their new son, Daxton Ryan King, to the world on October 9, 2019.
Amy shared a photo of the family of three on her Instagram account, alongside a caption that reads, “He’s absolute perfection!!!”
Daxton was delivered via a scheduled cesarean section on the advice of Amy’s doctor, who worried that the reality star might experience complications during childbirth due to her small frame. “I’ve been mentally and spiritually preparing myself for this I’m trying to relax, and not worry!” Amy nervously explained on Instagram.
“But I’ve never had surgery before, I’ve never even stayed in a hospital before, so I’m just a ball of nerves.”
Amy is the niece of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, whose family leaped into reality star fame on the show 19 Kids and Counting in 2008. The family has continued a version of the original show since its conclusion in 2015, Counting On, which begins airing its new season on October 15. Amy’s mother is Jim Bob’s sister, Deanna.
Amy and Dillon first shared that they were expecting in an Instagram post in April, and fans of the couple have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of their baby. Daxton joins his cousins in the ever-growing extended Duggar family, and the new parents shared that they hope to have “one or two” kids.
