It can be easy to take for granted those abilities that we as adults have mastered — like reading, writing, speaking, even counting to, oh, I don’t know, the number 30. But lest we forget, we all had to start somewhere, whether as babies or toddlers.
While on the road with his family, multitalented artist La Guardia Cross documented his 2-year-old daughter Amalah as she starts her education journey. It’s a tough road for many maybe, even if they have to make up some new rules (or, in the case of little Amalah, numbers) as they go along.
The video below begins with the toddler in the back seat of their car.
She had made it in her counting all the way to the number 26.
But that’s when things got a little difficult.
To get to 30, there were still four more numbers in her way — numbers that she didn’t quite know. But that didn’t mean that she was going to give up!
Instead, the savvy little girl decided to get her point across by inventing some new numbers… like “twennyny-seven” and “elevendydy-nine,” just to name a few.
She even threw a 78 in there for good measure — who cares about 30!
