Christy Kroboth is a member of the Gator Squad, a team based in Texas whose main service is “nuisance control hunting and coexistence strategies for alligators and wildlife in private waterways, lakes, ponds, and neighborhoods.” Christy is no stranger to handling alligators, both small and extremely large.
So, when a Houston couple called the authorities about an alligator above their door, she pretty much knew what to expect. Thing is, she found a different type of reptile — a lizard.
As soon as she saw the “nuisance,” she found herself saying, “You’ve got to be kidding me.”
Texas Parks and Wildlife dispatched Christy to the home where the supposed alligator had been spotted.
When she arrived, the homeowner pointed above the door.
That’s when Christy came face to face with the lizard that had frightened the couple so much.
Now, maybe in the heat of the moment, one might mistake a reptile for another. In the case of the couple Christy met that day, maybe taking a step back to really assess the situation before panicking would have been a good idea!
Christy quickly informed Texas Parks and Wildlife about the situation, and they had a good laugh about it, too!
