There’s nothing that warms my heart more than an amazing spiritual.

If you feel the same way, then this is singing group for you!

The call themselves the Blue Notes 5, and they’re an acapella group made up entirely of police officers.

They have no formal training. They didn’t start performing together until their graduation from the Police Academy, when they sang the National Anthem together. Now, they’re all members of the Huntsville, Alabama police force and have performed 480 times.

While they’re probably pretty happy with their day jobs, these guys could probably make a serious living if they went on tour!

They function almost like a barbershop quintet, harmonizing their different vocal ranges to perfection.

Though they occasionally perform at benefits for the police force and other neighboring institutions, singing is primarily a hobby for these talented officers. That’s the reason that this particular video is shot in their precinct bathroom. Hey, I get it, those acoustics are probably amazing!

In this video, they’re singing a truly beautiful medley of Christian spirituals. I love the simple morals of the lyrics, and they give it an incredible doo-wop influenced spin.
