Nearly one in eight Americans is struggling with alcoholism. But there’s always hope to turn your life around, and Elizabeth is living proof.

Five months ago, Elizabeth, a divorced mother with two adult children, appeared on the Emmy award-winning daytime talk show The Doctors. She was then drinking about a fifth of vodka a day and desperate for help.

Elizabeth was suffering from severe inflammation of the liver, and, while she didn’t yet have cirrhosis, she would soon if she continued to drink at the same level. Once, when she was admitted to the emergency room, the doctor told her son that he had never seen anyone so intoxicated that wasn’t also in a coma.

The Doctors arranged for her to get treatment for alcoholism at the Cliffside Malibu Treatment Center. Five months later, Elizabeth is back with an update on her health and recovery.

Elizabeth is now sober and — she also looks incredible with a new haircut and wardrobe. She reports that she is doing amazingly well and is even back together with her ex-husband.

Their daughter, Amber, joins the show by phone to congratulate her mom. “I never really thought I would see my mom sober again,” Amber says. “Seeing her sober is the best thing that could ever happen to our family.

Elizabeth’s transformation is truly remarkable and proves that it is never too late to make changes that improve your life.
