One woman decided to conduct a little experiment. She wanted to see how alcohol affected her appearance. Her face was typically puffy and red, so she wanted to see if alcohol was the cause.
The woman, whose name was kept anonymous, didn’t drink very much to begin with — she had about five glasses of wine a week. In fact, a glass of red wine a day is recommended as a great way to prevent heart disease.
She had no reason to believe her consumption habits were unhealthy… until she saw the results.
She decided to quit alcohol for just 30 days. Soon after quitting, her complexion was less red. Within a couple of weeks, she was sleeping better, her skin was less dry, and she had fewer sugary cravings.
By week three, the skin on her entire body was smoother and softer. Her friends were complimenting her new complexion, and she had less headaches. By week four, she had lost three pounds and all of her skin issues had practically disappeared.
Alcohol can cause a chemical reaction in some people that makes blood vessels expand. After 30 days, you could see those very blood vessels decrease in size.
