Alaskan Bush People star Bear Brown has had a roller coaster of a few weeks. It all started two weeks ago when the 32-year-old announced that he and girlfriend Raiven Adams were engaged. The two met at older brother Noah Brown‘s wedding in August 2018.
It sounded like things were really exciting for the couple.
Just yesterday, Bear announced that his and Raiven’s journey had come to an end. They decided to end their engagement and part ways but claimed to remain friends. Now it seems the situation has changed yet again. Bear has now announced that he and Raiven are expecting their first child together.
“Raiven and I are excited to share we’re expecting a baby this spring!” Bear revealed to People. “Even though we’re no longer together, we’re still friends and dedicated to raising a healthy and happy child.”
Raiven, 21, took to Instagram to make her own announcement: “Quickly after deciding friendship was best for us! We found out we had a little surprise coming our way. After a quick engagement because we felt that was the right thing to do. We talked about things, and ultimately decided being co parents was best for us as well as our baby.”
After a whirlwind few weeks, Alaskan Bush People‘s Bear Brown announced that he and ex-fiancée Raiven Adams are expecting a child together. Bear shared the news with People.
“Raiven and I are excited to share we’re expecting a baby this spring!” Bear said. “Even though we’re no longer together, we’re still friends and dedicated to raising a healthy and happy child.”
A statement from Raiven was included on the announcement on Discovery’s website. “Baby Brown was a little bit of a surprise but Bear and I are both so excited! We’re still in an early stage but we’ve talked a lot about how to make this work and prioritize the baby. We know the strength of our friendship and support of our families will allow us to raise a happy child.”
Raiven also shared the good news on her own private Instagram. “Quickly after deciding friendship was best for us! We found out we had a little surprise coming our way. After a quick engagement because we felt that was the right thing to do,” Raiven wrote.
“We talked about things, and ultimately decided being co parents was best for us as well as our baby. We are super excited, and surprised to announce this especially due to current events. We are excited to coparent as friends, and do our best to be the best we can be,” she continued.
“We can’t wait to find out the gender! being in the earlier stages means a lot of sick and sleepless nights. 😴 That’s okay because you are for sure worth it!” she concluded the post. This will be the first child for both Bear and Raiven.
The baby news comes at a peculiar time for the couple. Just the day before, Bear spoke to People to announce the couple’s decision to end their engagement. They had gotten engaged just two weeks earlier.
“Raiven and I have made the difficult decision to part ways as a couple,” Bear explained. “She is a wonderful person and I will always care for her. Sometimes people are better as friends and that’s perfectly okay. I will always wish the best for her in life.”
Despite the end of the relationship, the couple is still excited to go through parenthood together. “We’re still in an early stage but we’ve talked a lot about how to make this work and prioritize the baby,” Raiven explained to People.
Family will be a big help to both Bear and Raiven as they make all the discoveries first-time parents do. “We know the strength of our friendship and support of our families will allow us to raise a happy child,” she noted.
The first-time pregnancy has already been quite the ride for Raiven. “Pregnancy is no joke!” the 21-year-old model admitted. “I’m not sleeping much and I’m pretty sick but still feeling very blessed.”
Raiven says that she and Bear are most excited to find out whether their little bundle of joy will be a boy or a girl. They plan to find out “as soon as we can,” although they will “be thrilled with a boy or girl.”
Bear and Raiven aren’t the only ones adding to the Alaskan Bush People clan. Gabe and Raquell Brown are also expecting! The couple shared the news in late July, just a few weeks after they tied the knot.
Bear and Raiven haven’t released an official due date, but it seems like they’ll welcome their baby sometime in spring 2020. It’s sure to be an exciting journey for them as they navigate friendship and parenthood.
It’s clear that Bear really respects Raiven. As he first told People about her, “Raiven has been my best friend since [my brother] Noah’s wedding. She helped me a lot over the last year and I hope I can always be there for her the way she is for me.”
