Alan Thicke passed away unexpectedly today at 69 years old.

The actor, best known for playing the father, Jason Sever, on Growing Pains, is survived by his three sons Robin, Brennan, and Carter, and his wife Tanya.

TMZ is reporting that when the beloved TV actor was playing hockey with his son, he suffered a massive heart attack and passed away unexpectedly.

Many people don’t know this, but Thicke also composed the theme songs for Diff’rent Strokes, Growing Pains, and Wheel of Fortune! He was a multitalented man and he will be greatly missed.

We thought it would be nice to remember Thicke not only as an actor, but also as a family man, so we included a hilarious clip of his appearance with his family on Family Feud with Steve Harvey in the video below. His answer during the “fast money” portion of the program might surprise you.

I personally spent many weeknights on the couch watching Thicke on Growing Pains with my brother and mom, so this one hits close to home. We are sending our prayers to Thicke’s family and friends at this time.

Please SHARE this story with your friends in memory of this multitalented man. He will be missed!
