Graduating from college is one of the biggest accomplishments in your life. It doesn’t matter if you graduated early, on time, or much later than expected.

As long as you graduate, you have reason to celebrate.

One graduate at Laurentian University has more reason than most to celebrate. At 90 years old, Lawrence is the oldest graduate from the school’s 2016 class. In college, you have many major life experiences, but Lawrence started at Laurentian University having already experienced so many huge life milestones, as he is a veteran of World War II.

According to Lawrence, his graduation day is a “red-letter day,” which, as he explains, means that it is a day to remember.

Lawrence first enrolled at the university in 2008 on a part-time basis and has taken courses since then to earn his Bachelor of Arts degree.

Lawrence isn’t the only graduate in 2016 that is in their 90s. A nursing home in Nova Scotia recently celebrated their students’ graduations. The oldest member of that graduating class is 98! Lawrence got the real college experience though, saying while he didn’t go to many college parties, he did go to some. You can see his incredible college journey in the video below!
