Seventy-five years is a very long time. Imagine all the things that have changed over those years. The early part of this time span was overshadowed by World War II, which greatly affected millions of individuals, but also the world as a whole.

Think of how tall a tree can grow in 75 years, and how much a neighborhood can evolve. When you realize how much you change as a person, even in just a few years, imagine where 75 years will take you!

When you put it into perspective like this, 75 years is a really long time to be married to someone. The amount of love you have to feel for your significant other in order to make a marriage last that long has to be truly infinite, and a lot of compromises will surely be made on the way.

Homer and Bess LaBorwit made it to that landmark anniversary at ages 98 and 95, respectively. If this isn’t the picture of true love, I don’t know what is. While they were celebrating with their friends and family, Homer got up to impart some wisdom on how to make a marriage work for such a long time. As it turns out, there is one key secret to making it work with your true love for three quarters of a century, and Homer says it perfectly. Listen up, guys!
